Sometimes on an OpenVZ VPS rsyslogd daemon is using 100% of CPU for the VPS. You should login via SSH and run the following commands:
service rsyslog stop
sed -i -e 's/^\$ModLoad imklog/#\$ModLoad imklog/g' /etc/rsyslog.conf
service rsyslog start
