How to reset your Joomla admin password using phpMyAdmin?

  1. In order to reset your Joomla admin password using phpMyAdmin, you should login to the cPanel first in joomla hosting.
  2. Go to the php admin icon under the database section. At this page you need to select the database that is used by your website.
  3. Choose the jos users while clicking on it. Now click on the edit link for that user in order to change the password.
  4. Delete the old values added for the password field and enter the new ones. Then you need to select the function drop down as well to select md5.
